ROOTS

ROOTS CAFE
San Pedro de Atacama, Chile

Decor with Desert DNA

You don’t find Roots Cafe by accident, you stumble into it like a hallucination after hours under the Atacama sun. The town itself feels like a mirage, but the moment you push open the doors of this cafe, you know its real.

Roots Cafe is the bunker for desert survivors. The line between traveler, local and drifter are pretty blurred but all three are looking for caffeine when they arrive here.

The cafe feels worked in. Not styled. Not refreshed. Every surface has earned its scars. Tables wobble, chairs don’t match, the floor carries a fine layer of the Atacama desert that may be swept out only to return soon after. It reminds you why you came to Chile in the first place.

This is a place that has been leaned on, argued in and recovered through.
